am trying to format primary drive but cannot get past the message "drive in use by another process". cannot discover what this other process is. any suggestions?

Depends on what your operating system is. Under Windows, it will most probably be the swap file that is locked exclusively by the system. If you need to re-format your primary hard drive then you should boot from a CDROM/DVD/diskette instead of your hard disk and that should pretty much solve your problem.

i have a ? i have a harde disc and cant get past the password dose ne one now how and i also have another hard disc that has a vires on it that lets the internet sed but nott recive any thing?

Open cmd,

FORMAT (drive letter like D: for example)

eg

FORMAT C:

and that should do it :)
