I have a rottweiler book that is, unfortunately, packed away in storage currently - but it says that rotts are sometimes born with short tails.I remember being somewhat surprised at that.

Rottweilers are not born with short tails, they are docked between the 3rd and 5th day.  There have been instances where a Rottweiler was born without a tail but that is a genetic defect.

I heard that they dont have tails because in germany they used to cut them off and they eventually just evolved to not have tails. I would like to know if that is true!!!!
