HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN A CHIHUAHUA IS PREGNANT?

They will start getting fat around 5 weeks. They will get tired and lay around more. They may urinate more due to enlarging uterus squishing the bladder, and they may experience a personality change. You can get a dog pregnancy test at the vet for $20-$30 as long as she's over 3-4 weeks along. With Chihuahuas I cannot express how important it is for you to know how to tell when she's ready to whelp(so you can be with her) and what to expect during whelping. These dogs often have complications and you need to be there to call the vet if needed. To find out what to expect during this time go to: http://www.hilltopanimalhospital.com/reproduction.htm         If you have more questions email me at stanishas@aol.com because you can't be too careful with a pregnant dog!!

The other day I came in the house and my chihuahua dogs (Heidi and Dino) had mated, I know this because they were stuck together butt to butt.  They were stuck for about a half hour.  Does this mean there is a good chance of my female being pregnant??
