there is no difference between these two in functional logic. to avoid conflict from the user defined function they have separated the function name as _set_window. this kind of definitions are available for many functions defined in the unix sytem libraries

set_window is used for activating the window in GUI where as _set_window activate the window in AUT.

For example if two same windows are appearing set_window can not identify the particular window because it captures only the logical name where _set_window can identify the correct window because it capures the logical description of the window

It goes to focus on the window,
for exampe if u open four windows and all are
maximized and u want the first window to see
and then u use this set_window then it will be focused on that window and activates in same maximized size.

The set_window function directs input to the correct application window. This directs the GUI map to this window.
The _set_window function performs the application part of the set_window function, by setting the active window in the application under test. (The GUI part is performed by GUI_set_window.)
