Some might  but I start my lab puppys out in a small hard plastic swimming pool with just enough water to wet there feet and as they get larger i add a little more water. Little by little they learn to swim just like a child

I have a lab puppy and he hates water and baths. Hes afraid of water. My advice would be not to push him or her to swim if they do not want to. Do give the option though. Maybe he'll change his mind when he gets older.
