Aol has been rubbish from the start, what was a free trial turned into a contract! I am going to take Aol to court for illegally debiting money from my account each month whenever they felt like it! No direct debit was set just they took it when they wanted. It freezes & crashes all the time and I'vegot a brand new computer so its not my mac! Anyone else had the same problem?

Dude, we all could join a class action suit and never win. The Internet is full of these same type of business practices. AOL just brings it all to you. NEVER LET ANYONE HOOK UP TO YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT... Internet 101 You failed the first class on the first day of school. This is the 21st century. I love you, the check is in the mail and... oh yea... we require debit authorization.

We have only used AOL since we started using online service.  We have never had problems you describe.  I suggest taking your computer in for a check up at your point of purchase.  We have good trouble shooting on the few occasions when we  needed it.  Try another company and see your tech support cost go up.

While I agree AOL is rubbish. I wonder why you would give banking details for a free trail. It is obvious that they are going to try and find a reason to take some money

I cannot send emails to my friends that I have not yet persuaded to move away from AOL, and calling AOL about the problem or going on their web site is a waste of time.

Never set up an ADSL account with them. I had to contact Ofcom twice and wait over 6 weeks for them to release my line so i could sign on with a decent ISP.

AOL looks good at first All freephone help lines. The problem is the people answering you when you call are useless. They don't know what they are doing or they don't care.

So AVOID AOL at all costs

AOL is rubbish. Their customer service is very poor especially the technical team who have no experience whatsoever. Was calling them for over 1hour on the queue and eventually got told to read my users manual. If you call the new connections line, they pick up in less than 10 seconds.

It seems they are only interested in getting new customers to join and can't be bothered about them once they signed up.

In summary, try another provider before you get stuck with them.
