My son and daughter in law are expecting their first in about 4 weeks.  She goes to the doctor on the 19th for her check up and to have the b-strep test.  My question is, Why would a doctor do this test unless there is a reason he found to do it, or is it normal for them to do it, on a precautionary basis? Concern first time granny.
