One thing people are misconcepted about is usage of the "goo" or a&d ointments.  Your problem should stop if you reduce the amount you use. you only need a thin coat rubbed in. The fresh tattoo acts like a sponge and too much applied will be absorbed and cause the scabbing to worsen.  Do not peel or scratch tattoo....if iches its healing...try dermaplast spray before apply ointment.

I just got my tattoo last a month ago and mine did the same thing.I washed it with mild soap(Dove)twice a day and put the tattoo goo on. It's beautiful now. Just keep taking good care of it and it will be fine.

Just let it flake.  Don't pick or scratch.  It will flake for a few days (nasty little thought) and it'll come out just fine.

Remember to put your lotion on regularly.  Keep it moist.

My new raven tattoo on my lower back (got it on Saturday) is in the nasty peeling stage.  Ribbons of black just coming off.  Eeeeeew!  But it's normal.

i have a large tiger which looks as if its coming out of my side, and i found that to keep it looking good, only apply goo or moisturiser when u actually feel it getting dry or feel it cracking. otherwise u will over do it and make the scab worse.

People who have major experience:

How would you rate Tattoo Goo compared to Curel or Lubriderm? I'm planning on getting another tattoo over the holidays.  I've used Curel on the other tattoos and they healed in about two weeks with little scabbing.  I was thinking about purchasing some tattoo goo, but I know little about it.

Hey My Boyfriend got a tattoo about a month ago and it did the exact same thing. All he did was put Luberderm lotion on it 3 times a day.  Now it looks great and he's ready to get another one

Hey...I also just got my first tattoo on Friday. It's very dry as well, and I've been putting on Ink Fixx 4-5 times a day as well..the dry feeling you have is the scabbing process, and it's completely normal. Just keep up taking care of it, and don't worry about it being really dry/itchy...it's very normal, as long as you keep up what your tattoo artist has told you to do, and soon it'll be healed :o) GOOD LUCK!!!

I got my tattoo 2 days ago, I feel asleep today and it stuck to my tshirt.  I wetted the spot down and peeled the shirt off.  It looked like some color came of with the shirt?  It seems like its scabbing but the scab is really most and sticks to thing.  Suggestions?
