My 10 month old female ragdoll Tess died today from leukemia. She had been at the vets, but she saw no improvement. We decided to take her home, love on her and as long as she was in no pain,as the vet said, treat our home as hospice. I sat with her for 3-4 hours last night. She climbed onto me and we sharred ourlove. I put 2 pillows under her kissed her and went to sleep about 1:00am. At 7:00 I went up to look in on her and she was under the bed unmoving, eyes wide open, no response at all. I took her in my arms and she took her final breath.  QUESTION: I have been told by several people that cats sense their death and want to be left alone, in solitude to die. I am guilt ridden about leaving her for several hours the night before her death (to die alone).  ANY FACTUAL INPUT ABOUT CATS DEATHS AND THE SOLITUDE ISSUE WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED.
