why can't i connect to my yahoo messenger i have it dowloaded and i have an acount but it won't let me connect

I can't connect to yahoo messenger! Every time I go to do it, it says that I have to be online when I am. Could you tell me what the problem is? THANKS!

i am connected - i sign in to yahoo - it says connecting to yahoo as mad422000 - but it stays there and don't open any further

I can't use my messenger account because I get a message that comes up saying that I dont have a certain Earthlink feature installed and that I need to install it from a disk that I SUPPOSEDLY already have that I don't.  Why is this when I have never had this problem before?

Up until about 3 days ago my yahoo messenger worked fine, but i saw that thing for the new update so i downloaded it but it didnt work so I removed it and put my old version and now that doesnt work. It say messenger cant connect. The smiley guy turns yellow for a second and goes back to gray but it still say welcome like im signed on instead of saying connecting but it still sends a message saying yahoo messenger cant connect.

I installed the yahoo beta, since then it  will only connect to one of the older versions, you can not even use your cam mic etc.

Click the Messenger menu in Messenger and select Connection Preferences.

Enable the Firewall with no proxies option.

Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Messenger will ask you if you want to re-sign in with your new proxy settings. Click the OK button.

Enter your ID and password and click the Sign In button.
