I have a weird problem I need help with. I have a file with several thousand lines of separated data I need to convert to one data item per line. Can anyone help with a sample script?

My file has data lines of this kind:
SP!527,5!206,11!206,11!206,10!206,10!0,9!0,9!0,9!0,8!0,8!0,8!0,0
Where SP can be either SP, AT, DE or DA and then twelve fields of data. Each of the fields has two values which need to be separated (the one before the comma is the A value and the one after the comma is the V value). I need the data to be laid out with one data field per line with an additional field for column number at the beginning and separated by tabs. The first three fields in the above line would look like this in the finished document:

1[TAB]SP[TAB]A[TAB]527
1[TAB]SP[TAB]V[TAB]5
2[TAB]SP[TAB]A[TAB]206
2[TAB]SP[TAB]V[TAB]11
3[TAB]SP[TAB]A[TAB]206
3[TAB]SP[TAB]V[TAB]11

Can anyone help me with this? Plis? If possible answer to eduo@mac.com, although I'll be checking back here.
