Not any more than most other breeds.  They are very susceptible to the cold, so shouldn't be outside without a jacket if it's less than 50+ degrees Fahrenheit.  For that reason, a lot of people use a litter box rather than outside in the colder climates (such as MN, where I live).

It is important for chihuahua pups to have all their vaccinations, since they are so small, if they do catch anything they don't have a lot of reserves to fall back on.  It is also very important for them to be checked for worms and be on heartworm medications.

I have a year old or so Chihuahua stray that is caughing now as a result of wonderlust a couple of days ago.  He has to be fixed and he got out accidently and came back with this new caugh.  Is there anything I can do at home for him?

It is very important to buy your Chihuahua from somewhat know. When I bought my first one, I was told she was six weeks old. To start off with, I think that was a lie. I am almost sure she had not yet even been weened. Within a week after getting her, she wouldn't eat and and her body temp dropped dangerously low. The vet told me that since she wasn't eating her blood sugar was also very low. For the first month of her life I had to feed her through a serenge. I had to give her sugar water and she had to sleep on a heating pad.
