With regards to Q9 and distinctive ring tone. If you buy a fax machine that has distinctive ring tone capability, do you need a switching device on the phone line or does the fax machine automatically recognize the distinctive ring provided by the Telcon and automatically answer before a human can answer on a voice phone?

A fax machine with the "distinctive ring" feature will recognize a distinctive ring and pick up the line automatically. However, it will not pick up before the first ring. This means that if  you or your answering machine picks up the phone before the first ring finishes the "recieve fax" button on the fax machine will have to be pushed before you hang up so that it will recieve the fax.
