I am looking to adopt a cavalier king charles spaniel that is a puppy in NH, MA, or FL. If by any chance you could help me, please reply back.

We lost our puppy of 14 years last December and  would like to adopt a Cavalier King Charles in the Virginia, DC, and Maryland area.

Cavaliers are indeed a lovely breed, giving so much unconditional love. They make loyal and devoted pets. They do have health issues like all breeds do, so it is important to purchase from a reputable breeder that has their breeding stock heart and eye cleared by certified specialists. I would like to adopt a Cavilier King Charles Spaniel.  I am a 10 year old
boy and I live with my mom and dad. I'm an only child and I get very lonely.  I live in a suburban area and have a big backyard so he could play.  My dad had a dog as a kid and now I want one too.  Can you please locate a breeder  that has this specific dog?  thank you.

I have a solid black (no tan or wht)Perfect angel! she is 3 totally sound and house trained,she loves her 3 cats and All kids too,she is spayed and shots and hart worm(-) too, I would love to find a home or apart. for her with someone that can give her the time she needs,I'm almost never home now and she needs be with somebody that will take her on long walks and rides in the car like I did when I was home...she is just waste'nher life away... so If you would like to see pics of her write me at Talatzkomom@aol.com and I will send some to you from N.C.

I would like a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. My lab ran away because the exterminates left the gate open. Its been 4 months since it ran away and so I want to get one. Its one of my moms favorite kind of dogs and my step dad wants one. If i were to get one it would stay inside alot. thank you for your time.

I can't believe you are promoting the sale of dogs from backyard breeders!
Most of the ads that are placed in newspapers are from these "backyard breeders" that tell you they have a perfect litter with no health defects whatsoever, and that they have come from a loving family who breeds the dogs for the sheer improvement of the particular breed. If you open your eyes and look a bit more clearly, you will realise that most of these "breeders" are deadbeats who care not for the breed or the individual dog itself, but care only for the money they plan to make from selling them.
For anyone looking for a dog, whether it be a Cavalier or any breed, please buy from a reputable breeder who cares for the dogs and not someone who only wants to make money.

We already decided a long time ago that we wanted a dog and finally we picked exactly the breed we want. I've been looking everywhere for a breeder close by that can help us in getting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I really hate the idea of a puppy being in a plane by itself in a little cage with no one to play with. For anyone in the Denver area there is a Tri-colored Cavalier King Charles at the Pet Store on Iliff near the DDFL. He is beautiful with a shiny black and white coat and a sweet personality.I wanted to buy him myself but my husband will not allow it since we already have 3 dogs. I know he was born in August so he would be going on 4 months old and they have cut the price dramatically.(I know the reputation of Pet Stores and it is not the best place to purchase pets but this dog is adorable and needs a home soon 4 months in a pet store is way to long for any pup)

Hi fellow CKCS fans!  I have spent the better part of the past ten months searching for a wonderful furry addition for our family, and have come across a couple great resources which I feel might be useful on this list.  First is the "Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club- USA" (www.ckcsc.org) site,  which is filled with all kinds of important information about the breed,  as well as a Breeders list for those looking to purchase a pure-bred, a Rescue Organization contact list for those who come across a dog in need of help, and an on-line application for those who would be able to offer a good home to a rescued animal.

The second resource I'd like to mention is Pet Finder (www.petfinder.com).  An easy to use search engine helps locate pets of interest available at local shelters. Most listings have descriptions and photos.  This is a great way to find the perfect pet without spending the day on the phone, or driving from one place to the next.  I see wonderful Cavalier mix dogs listed every week!  

I apologize for the lengthy post-  I hope these wonderful resources aide you in finding the perfect new companion.

Well, my friend Jennifer, has had a bad day. Just at lunch we were talking about how cute her little new CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIEL would be, and my friends and I all agreed. Then to find out that afternoon that her mom got in a car accident (though nothing major, I mean, it was a Hummer) and then, when she got home, her mother told her that the new puppy that she had been waiting for since March 2003, (she was getting her puppy in 2004 of Jan.) had died at birth, along with the mother and all the other puppies. She had been waiting soooo long for one, always counting down the days in her locker, down the drain. She called me tonight and told me while sobbing on the phone. So, if anyone can tell me where to find a CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIEL in Colorado, and fast, that would be great, and I would love you to pieces (and so would Jennifer)

I am looking for a King Charles Cavalier.  I do not need one to be show quality.  I am looking for a companion that I can bring to work.  I am a therapist and do nursing home work.  I always brought my beloved Mr. Tucker who was a beinheim.  He brought so much joy and happiness to the residents even the folks that were not connected with psyche services.

I just lost my king Charles spaniel. he was so cute. then i went to an animal shelter on a brownie field trip and saw all these dogs that wanted to get out of there cages. i started crying it felt so sad.  get a king Charles spaniel from an animal shelter because then you will save a life.

I WOULD LIKE A CAVALIER KING CHARLES.  WE HAVE ALWAYS USED RECUE ORGANIZATIONS OVER THE LAST 30 YRS.  WE HAVE HAD 8 GREAT DANES THRU DANE RESCUE OVER THE YEARS.  WE HAVE A VERY OLD HARLEQUIN WHO IS 11 YRS OLD & SHE WOULD LOVE A COMPANION.  A DEAR FRIEND BROUGHT HER CAVALIER OVER LAST WEEK & THEY WERE BEAUTIFUL TOGETHER.  BESSIE OUR DANE WAS PROTECTIVE & MOTHERING. I have wanted a dog for as long as I can remember and now my parents finally think I can handle the responsibilities of owning one. I also need a friend more than ever at this point in my life because a few months ago I was diagnosed with Epilepsy and many old friends that I had previously in my life have left to find someone else.

I have wanted a Cavalier forever and finally can get one but now that I am asking I am finding out that the tri-color Cavalier puppies are a whpooping $2000! Now I dunno who can, but we can't afford a puppy like that and give em food! I'm now sad, really sad.

I have a new litter of AKC Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies that will be ready to go mid-June. They are from a nice well-bred Champion bloodline.  Their parents are heart and eye cleared by certified specialists. Our puppies are home raised, and we only have a couple of litters a year. We breed for the improvement of the breed and the hopes of obtaining a nice show dog for ourselves. We look for loving families to place the others as pets. Please email if you are looking for a healthy puppy from a breeder that cares about the breed. Healthy Cavaliers are well worth the money. Unfortunately, cheap ones cost far more in the long run. I am looking for a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy.  I know they are VERY expensive and RARELY placed for adoption, and almost NEVER as puppies.  I can pay a fair price for a family pet, about $300 for a purebred without papers, and an additional $300 upon receipt of valid AKC or equivalent papers and a clean bill of health.  For a mix I can pay $100-$200 depending on quality.  Puppies only under 4 months.  Plus shipping.  email me at: PhilD @ iname.com  rescues welcome within above criteria.

I am 11 years old and I would really love to get a Cavalier Puppy. I have been researching on then for over a year. I think they are really cute! I would like any info. I have owned Dogs all my life, I believe that we should never be without them. I've had pure breads and mixed breeds, to me they were all very special parts of my family. I have had one to three at a time and always they gave nothing but an abundance of love. I have recently lost my last dog, and my home has never felt so empty. I had decided that this time I wanted a cavalier, but unfortunately cannot afford $1500-$2000 for a pup. so i will be very happy adopting a cavalier mix i also have an awful lot of love to give.

well for about a year now i have had a ckcs he is the sweetest thing my dad had to pay about $1,400 and i love him to death  i got him at a store called pets cretures and critters and he is in perfect health exept he has asma altho he barely shows it but if you dont want to buy a ckcs from a store but a breeder i might be breeding my ckcs not for the money but i love this breed and i think more people should have them and  to severyal of these people on this site i think if you have to pay up to $ 2000 or morefor a dog you would want to give it away 4 free

We have 3 purebred CKC registered Cavalier King Charles puppies who will be ready to go by the end of June. 1 male blenheim, 1 female blenheim, and 1 tri-color female. These puppies are literally raised in our home with lots of love and attention. Will be very hard to give them up. my mom is coming close to retirement and her dream is to raise puppies and she fell in love with the breed king charles spanial they are the perfect and their personality is great to. i my self love dogs and i will welcome a new dog with open arms we have a big backyard and a pool for cooling off but the dog will most of his time in the house with our cocker spanial  thank you.   my email is rockstartria46815@yahoo.com

Please, please, please, only buy Cavaliers from reputable breeders.  As wonderful as these dogs are they have significant health problems.  A responsible breeder will only breed a dog that has had its heart, eyes and patellas checked to preserve the integrity of the breed and prevent alot of heartache for owners.

BEWARE!!!! of Cavaliers offered for Sale on the net. I recently had the worst experience of my life from a "loving breeder" who offered me the pick of the litter but I would have to wait for the papers because the mother's papers were late in coming from UK.  Because of this delay she offered me a discount of $400. from her usual $1800. Money was not an issue for me.  This was a dream I had for over 10 years but I kept adopting "orphan" dogs and kept putting off getting my first ever puppy. I chose the puppy, named him Wellington, and my brother rented an SUV to bring the puppy to me at Thanksgiving (a drive of 800 miles) but when I asked about the mothers papers for health reasons so we could know what health background she had the breeder brutally canceled the agreement because her husband decided "I really didn't want the puppy" -  Never mind that I had already let my Vet know that I was expecting a new addition to the family, had already purchased his blankies, toys bed, etc, let his two sisters to be (Cockers) know that they were going to have a baby brother,posted his puppy pictures on my office door so my staff could watch him grow! Now I see that the litter and mother are no longer on her website.  I provided the name of my vet and everything and would have been happy to provide references, including faculty from the Veterinary School on my campus but she didn't even ask!.  Heads up!  Irresponsible Back Yard Breeders need to be drummed out of business. Be suspicious when breeders have lots of litters available at one time, talk to their vets.  Those of you, like me who have fallen in love with Cavaliers need to do what ever we can to protect these beautiful dogs.  We need to make sure that those characteristics that we love so much in this breed are now jeopardized by inexperienced greedy back yard breeders.
Would love to know if others have had a similar experience as mine.  Maybe if we band together and compare notes we can prevent others from experiencing the heartache I have just had.

I am having the same problem with the extremely high price for the cavalier.  I know that they are wonderful dogs but I would really like to find one at a price that will leave me with the funds to care for my new pup in the best way.  Does anyone know where CKCS can be purchased at lower prices?

I paid $2,500 for my King Charles Cavalier Spaniel.  I don't see how anyone thinks they will be able to purchase one of these dogs for under $300.  And anyway, the dog isn't even worth $300.  She is beautiful, but that's about it.  She has the worst personality of any dog that I have ever had.  She dominates all of my other dogs, and she growls and tries to bite us all the time.  She uses the bathroom in the house just to mark her territory.  Of course, I'm stuck with her now because I paid $2,500 for her, so I'm not exactly going to give her away for free.

My parents just bought a Cavalier King Charles puppy.  I am the one who find the pup.  I spent a year researching different breeders.  If you are serious about getting a Cavalier, contact a Cavalier Club in your area (there are two in California).  Due to their heart issues, do NOT, REPEAT, Do not buy from anyone who is not a reputable breeder.  Be aware the prices start around $2,200 - $3,500 for a pet quality.  I have known two people who spent $1,500 and bought from a newspaper ad.  Both dogs died at 4 and 6 years old due to the heart problems.  Before that they probably each put in over $2,000 in vet bills.  They would of been better off going to a good breeder and buying from a breeder who does DNA testing as well as has a line of dogs without the heart condition.  Anyone else you buy from, where you are gambling with your money.  Also, any good breeder will not have a puppy available immediately for you - the wait can be any where from 6 months to two years.

i have got 4 cavaliers and there loyal and they are always there for you they know when somethings wrong give them love n they give u it back 100 times more they rule i also got a cocker spaniel

I am looking to buy or adopt a king charles spaniel. I had a pet rat but since they only live for four years mine died. That is the reason I'm looking for a new friend. I would like to get the king charles spaniel instead of any other pet because I hear they are really lovable like children and i KNOW they are really cute. I also have 3 kids in my family who all love dogs. I could give it a loving home and give it food. What is the lowest price for a purebred that you can find. I am only 10 and my 2 younger sisters and i want a dog. We had 1 3 years ago and he was 3 before we got sued becaused he licked a girl on the nose and she got hives. FOUND MY CAVALIER KING CHARLES!  HERE'S SOME ADVICE ALMOST 2 YEARS LATER:<br>1. You will probably pay more in vet bills than you paid for your dog.  Our dog had Giardia and Ear Mites and had diarrhea on the airplane trip home.  This happened even though the breeder's Vet gave the two puppies a CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH.  They were BOTH sick and the breeder was stupid because she thought she didn't need a vet.  WORTHLESS.<br>2. If there are ANY warning signs, avoid the breeder.  If you don't walk your dog on a leash, they will eat their own poop or other dogs poop and get Giardia again.  It took more than 5 treatments of different types to get rid of the Giardia.  Finally the malaria treatment killed the parasite.<br>3. Get a 1 year health guarantee that your breeder will refund 50% of the cost of your puppy if there are any major problems costing over $500 with the puppy in the first year.  Ours needed surgery for almost $1000 in total costs.  Expect to pay a reputable breeder at least $800 for a healthy vet-monitored CKCS puppy, more if it's AKC registered and a really good breeder.  Any other registration is a WARNING SIGN.  SEE the Kennel Clubs table at http://www.aldebaranbulldogs.com/faq.htm

I have a Cavalier king Charles spaniel and I absolutely LOVE the breed they are so awesome. I have a blenheim his name is Luke.
Luke and me play all the time and go on long walks, but he needs a buddy to play with when I go to school. I feel really bad to leave him for even a couple of hours.
we are looking for any color except a tri. we would especially love a black and tan. It needs to be a male puppy with healthy parents. champion puppies we would also like. they need to be breed standard and have great markings and their parents need to have great coats. The only problem is. that i live in a place where you don't find lots of cavaliers. if you are anywhere in Utah, or Idaho, Colorado area please contact me. i know that Luke and me would love and enjoy another dog or puppy. We would like it not to be fixed cause we want to build the breed up.

hi i have a caviler kc spaniel her name is Gracie she is the sweetest thing ever and the sweetest thing on earth she is 7 months old and is a doll her face is so cute she is so cute everywhere and is an awesome dog to have is very great and sweet and nice and loving and kind! so we have two other dogs a chocolate lab and a collie! the lab is so hyper put Gracie loves to play with him his name is Felix! and so my other dogs name is Dixie she so quite and so sweet and just really sits all day.so talk to you later good-bye chow

I am very desperate. I want a cavalier king charles spaniel very badly. I've been searching through the house to find coins so I can save up and I'm only 12. They are the cutest dogs in the world and I know they have health issues but I've been researching and it said not to buy a cavalier that's cheap because the breeder or owner will not give it health guarantees and don't buy one if the seller does not show a picture. Some people are out there to take your money so be careful.

Have a cocker female from rescue and went by there yesterday and got our King Charles.  Someone moved and brought him in to be given to a good home.  We are so excited.  They are having a great time together. Florida

I go to an online school and live in southern California.  Obviously since I go to an online school this leaves me with a lot of extra time and trips to the park.  I thought what better way to brighten up my day than get a dog.  When I looked through every breed, Cavaliers seemed like the perfect dog for me!  If anyone can help me find a breeder I would love a moderately priced Cavalier.  I don't have tons of money but I do have enough to buy about a $500 or less dog and take extra good care of it.  My email is artbydesign101@yahoo.com  please email me if you have a FEMALE cavalier you are willing to sell.  I prefer Blenheim, but pretty much any Cavalier is good enough for me.  Thank you very much.
