In a computer the number of moving parts and high load parts are few , hence the most problematic part of your computer happens to be the floppy drive and nowadays the CDrom drives. Since physical reading of data is done here, the rest of the computer is basically using digital data which is relatively error free.
In printers there are a number of moving parts like the head, paper feed , exit rollers , gears and the main shaft on which the head rides. These are constantly subjected to external dust and natural wear and tear . In copiers we have high voltage transformers and clutches besides all the other moving parts , which cause the insulations to leak (especially in humid conditions) and the clutches do wear out like automobiles. Since the whole process is synchronised with microprocessers using motors and stepper motors , the chances of error in shear physical movement is much higher than that of digital movement.Hence the problems are much more.
