Our 7-year old Aussie (male) has been a great pet, but in the last year we have been seeing a couple of things change.  He has been beginning the progression of Canine Hip Dysplasia, and we now have him on some medication that seems to help.  My question has to do with his temperament though.  He has always generally been submissive, since a puppy.  But, lately he has been very attached to me, following me in, out and around the house.  He has also growled two times that we've tried to let him out in the morning to go to the bathroom.  Once was with me, once was with our neighbor when we were away for one day.  He didn't nip or bark, just growled and moved back to his bed.  This is very unlike him, and I am concerned.  Does this sound like he might have some physical discomforts or maybe a psychological issue with something?  Sorry for the long "question", but I want to give a basis.  Thank you!
