I'm trying to wire a pool using an outside switch and an existing GFCI outlet. The outlet is is inside my house and I need the switch to turn the pool pump on and off. I tried using to load side of the GFCI outlet to power the switch but every time I tried to connect to the load side it tripped the breaker and the GFCI would not reset? How ever the pump was not connected to the switch yet. Could this be why it keeps tripping the breaker or can I not use the load side of the GFCI in this application?
