I need to replace the hall sender on my 94 vr6 Passat. could you please inform me of it's location on the engine.

Its up there where the six kabels for the high voltage go from. The hall sender tells the Motorcomputer when the upper deadpoint of the motor is reached. so do we call this here in germany. the exact position of the turning of the motor is told from down at the block where the speed-sensor controls the rotation of the "antriebswelle". there are also two sensors at the block for the front and the rear cylinder-row which control the point of ignition and expolosion in each of the two cylinderrows.
