I've found 14-3 wire connected to an exhaust fan in my laundry room while I was remodeling my house, and it was only connected to a normal 2-way switch. I tried wiring it back the way I found it and apparently burned out the switch. Any idea what the wiring should be? Btw, the color scheme is red white black, with a bare ground.
