I've got a 7 yr. old choc. lab that since age one has had severe allergies. He's been tested and gone through the injections to build immunities twice - no luck. The only thing that helped as prednisone injections every 2-3 months and tablets as necessary in between. Now out of nowhere he was diagnosed with diabetes last month. He's doing great with the insulin and has regulated easily, but can't have prednisone. We're trying antihistimine, but with marginal success and he's rubbing his eyes and chin so bad he's in a hood now. Any ideas or wisdom for me?

i have a two year old choc lab who has had severe allergies since 7 months he has had 8 ear infcetions and is now trying the injections to build up his immunities. when he chewes on his paws until they bleed i put booties on him, and depending on the season i either bring him to the beach that ends in a bath or just bath him with medi clean shampoo(with out booties) and for days after there are no skin reactions. its just a pet store find nothing special but it works for now, with no sterioids. good luck!
