I own a 2000 Dodge Stratus ES in-which I have an intermittent electrical problem.  The rear-window defroster will turn on and off intermittently and all the lights, both interior/exterior, will flicker.  Occasionally the battery light will come on. On three different occasions when this occurred I shut off the vehicle only to have it not restart.  After waiting sometimes up to an hour and a half the car would start without any problem.  I've had the car taken to Dodge Service four times without a diagnosis although one service technician did tell me that there was a problem but that he could not locate it.  I've had the battery replaced twice after Kragen hooked up there device and said the battery was bad.  After the pain of removing the battery from the wheel-well I had the same Kragen check the battery again and they said it was fine.  They replaced it anyway.  Any ideas as to where this mystery electrical problem lies?   HELP!!

There is only two things that come to mind when i read this, Either an shortage in the connections or the hole wiring itself is all jazzed up the question that i have for you is what did u all replace in the vehicle over the past 2 years. That would give me an idea of what it could be. I am very well aquainted with the dodge stratus especally the 2000 model partially because i own one my self so if u could e-mail me back with a list of repairs that would be great. Thank you and I look forward to helping you out.My e-mail is scalisha@uwplatt.edu thanks again

The problems with my car had gotten progressively worse as when unlocking all the doors with the key they would self lock.   I also noticed my radio seemed to develop a constant hiss.  My neighbor recommended that I check the alternator by removing the negative side of battery after I started it to see if it would die.   I went to loosen the negative side in the engine compartment, by the air filter and noticed it only took a quarter turn to loosen.  I retightened it and snugged it down tight.   It appears thus far that this has cured the problem.  I never thought to even look there as the cable seemed pretty darn tight.

Check the engine compartment fuse box to make sure all the fuses are pushed all the way in.  My ex-wife's car ('97 Breeze) did something very similar to what you describe and it was due to one of the fuses having worked it's way out far enough that it was not making good contact.
