Unsupervised you must be 18 years of age.  Technically if you are with a legal parent or guardian you can have a tattoo at any age with their consent - however, this is always at the discretion of the artist.

You will note that now, many artists will not tattoo anyone under the age of 18, and in some cases 21 regardless.

Do your parents/guardians know you are trying to get a tattoo?  If so, get them to accompany you to the studio.  If not, don't get one.  The reason being that any studio that would tattoo an unaccompanied minor is going to be a back alley joint, and will NOT do a good job.

Wherever you go, ensure that the artist has a health and hygiene certificate, and preferably a qualification in tattoo or skin art.  These are widely available and now accepted in the industry as necessary in order to weed out the rogues.
