if i attack with a 2/4 creature and he blocks with a 2/2...

if i attack with a 2/4 creature and he blocks with a 2/2 creature do i die

You dont die, and neither does your creature!! ha!

2/4 =  Power: 2  Toughness 4
2/2 =  Power: 2  Toughness 2

Each creature deals damage to the other creature equal to its power. A creature with damage equal or greater than its toughness will be destroyed.

Your creature only takes 2, so it will live, since it has a toughness of 4.
