i am really sorry to hear that!! but you shouldn't train a pit to be aggressive.the best you can do is either keep them inside or maybe microchip them and hope for the best. lowlifes seem to be attracted to them and these are the last people you want to steal your dog, so i wouldn't lock them outside in the first place. sorry though.

I know loads of people who train their dogs to be aggressive in order to keep them from being stolen.  Unfortunately it is those dogs that you see on the news when they get off their chain and maul a kid, like just happened here in oklahoma a few days ago.  As usual the liberal media doesn't blame the owner they blame the breed.  Just like they don't blame the parent who left a loaded firearm in an accessible place; they blame the gun.  And it doesn't matter how many lives that pit bulls or guns save, they will always be hated by the media.
I'm on a soapbox but basically the pit bull is the hardest dog to keep from getting stolen, because it is nearly impossible to make good guard dogs out of them without abuse or at very least improper socialization.

Did you baby her to much? HA... thats a laugh, you kept her outside. I don't know your situation but i'd say that's not babying her. Now I'm not saying your'e a bad person but animals don't deserve to be chained up, But maybe your dog liked it, I don't know. I haven't seen to many that did...come to think of it, I've never seen one that was as happy as inside family dogs.Well good luck anyways, and hope maybe someone who wanted to give it a home took it...lol, yeah right, that poor dog most likely already died a slow tormenting death thanks to you, "babying her to much". Hey just get another there expendable, right?

hello to "your a butthead" i dont belive stacy actually said anything about chaining her dog up. or are you saying that dogs are not allowed to be outside anymore
btw stacy im very sorry to hear your pup stolen. most probably at 9monthes your pup wasnt confident enough or strong enough to try and take on an intruder i wouldnt worry that your pup didnt defend your property. as pits get older they instictivly become more protective of their owners and families.

Last October some mutherf****er stole one of my females out of the playpen.....
I just bred her with one of my top studs
she had that perfect litter I had been planning for.
I'd like to find that bastaard who took her!!!
I miss my dog..... I wouldn't doubt it if they sold her & her pups to some ignorant fool.

Has it occurred to anyone that she may have climbed the fence? These dogs are extremely physical and muscular and can climb chain link fences without even thinking about it. Height isn't even a factor. They just hook their little toes in a up they go. Maybe she saw a squirrel and was up and over in no time. A friend had his pit bull jump out the window of a moving car (slow) to chase a squirrel he saw in a tree. The fall never seem to faze him, he just wanted to play with that squirrel. You should be checking the animal shelters and posting "lost" signs. Good luck. By the way: He FOUND his pit bull in an alley. They do find ways of getting lost.

A pit isn't supposed to be aggressive towards people.  The best thing for you to do to make a pit not trust strangers is to keep it inside and put it in a separate room when strangers come over, and not let people pet your dog.  DO NOT train a pit bull to be aggressive towards humans, you are asking for trouble.

I agree with the person that sounds upset you left a pitbull outside and agree, that poor dog is probably a bait dog now or being trained to fight.  Beyond sad.
