We've adopted a 3 - yr stray female IG & have now had her for 2 mos.  Unfortunately, we've had to put her through heartworm treatment & board her with the vet for preplanned vacation.  We've had two basic problems - one potty training, which we're working thru, and the other is socialization/shyness. She will not eat in front of us, take any food from hand, or any treats, making it impossible to use food as a reward.  Even after 2 months she will not willing come to us (even the person she's bonded with) - & doesn't really play.  Any suggestions or resources we can refer to which might help us?  She's a sweet dog, but the family is getting really frustrated with her.  Thanks for any help anyone has to offer...
