A "SellOut" is some one that used to say they were straight edge but later broke edge and smoked a cigarette or drank a beer or 'hooked up' with some random person at a club.  They are people who gave up on living the straight edge lifestyle and people who broke their commitment to staying pure.
Lets face it, straight edge is not for everyone.

"Hardline" is a militant (yet non violent) movement for animal rights and the environment.  They are ALWAYS vegan and usually tend to be active environmentalists and believe in animal liberation.  They believe strongly in human rights and animal rights and want to prolong the life of our planet.  Hardline really does not have anything to do with Straight Edge other than the fact that they believe in keeping their bodies pure.  Many Straight Edge kids can also believe in hardline but that should not suggest that hardline and straight edge are some how connected.
I suggest you read The Hardline Manifesto if you want to understand what hardline is all about.
Many people however misuse "hardline" to describe militant (and often very violent) straight edgers.  These are the type of kids that we hear about fighting someone simply for smoking around them or the type of kids that go around and beat other kids up for "selling out."
Hate Edge, Militant Edge, hard edge...  call it what you will but don't get it confused with Hardline.

Well a sellout isn't necessarily pointing to a certain person. It's basically just anyone who will sacrifice themselves to make other people happy. Or to fit in, to get money, etc.
