Is there a difference between non-monogamy and polyamory or can they be used interchangeably?

I'm not wishing to compete but to offer my understanding of the 2 terms. The word:non-monogamy denotes a larger "set" which includes the word: polyamory. Polyamory usually means a fairly casual form of multiple relating without long-term commitments. Sometimes people preface the word with adjectives like committed/ethical/gay or lesbian etc. I tend to contrast the word to Polyfidelity, which involves long-term commitment.
