My dog bites a lot. She is only 6 weeks old, and I wanted to know if she is teething or what? Or is this just a phase?

All pups will chew on their owners. They are playing with you and don't know they aren't supposed to. However, it is not just a stage and she won't stop on her own. She needs to be taught that it hurts you because, trust me, when she gets older it will!!! So when she does that, give her a little pop on the nose, not as much to hurt her but to surprise her, and say "no" or "ouch". Do this EVERY time without fail and she will stop. Good luck! This behavior should not be encouraged.  The best way to stop it is to do what other dogs do.  When puppies play with each other and sometimes get a little rough, they yelp and the biting puppy will back off.  It's a high pitched "yowp" kind of sound.  Make this sound when your puppy bites you.  Make this sound EVERY TIME she puts her teeth on you.  Puppies can bite each other quite hard without causing each other pain and she doesn't understand that human skin is more tender than dog skin, so don't get upset with her, just tell her by making the sound that she is hurting you.  She will learn.  The younger she learns this, the better for all involved.  Good luck.
