It was the Stoner virus which I first seen in 1987. This virus never did any damage to your computer but it would slow it down and display on the screen, "Your machine is now stoned legalize marijuana." The author of the virus is still unknown. Some believe that a programmer who had written viruses for the Apple Macintosh had a hand in writing this virus other thought it was Peter Norton.

If you are referring to "brain" you are incorrect. "Brain" is the first named virus, in 1986 to help monitor privacy of programs. The actual 1st virus was in fact unnamed and created by a college student by the name of Fred Cohen as an experiment to test the security of the computing devices.

The name of first ever virus was Brain, developed by two bothers in Lahore Pakistan to protect their created software. After successfully infecting computer that used a pirated copy of their software, it gave them details of the bothers asking person to contact them for vaccination. others used the idea of this program (virus) for negative reasons.
