I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with their jeep losing rpm'sto the point or stalling or wanting to stall.Giving gas to it seems to keep it from stalling.
Also At 45/50 miles per hour I have a intermintent jerking which will cause the rpm'sto go down. Not sure if the two are related.

I have recently had it to the dealer several times and of course it does not act up for them. They changed the rotor and cap. The second time they cleaned the injectors.
Int the past the TPS sensor was replaced, map sensor, fuel pump and filter.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?
It is a 1994 jeep grand cherokee sw.

I have the same problem with my 1994 JGC. I also need help in finding the problem. I replaced the TPS, but it did not correct the problem.

check carburator and take it apart and clean everthing except diaphragms, electric choke units, pump plunger, and all other plastic, leather, fiber, or rubber parts . and don't put gas cleaning solution in gas that really messes it up.

THe problem is your crank sensor in the transmission. It took me 2 months, and 2 dealerships to resolve the same issues you are having as well as I replaced all you had listed. New crank sensor, problem was solved on my jeep.

I have a '96 JGC Laredo 4.0L that's doing the exact same thing. Diagnosed it to be running rich, though so far I've not found why. I'm replacing the MAP Sensor tomorrow, that is the most likely culprit. I know it's not the TPS, camshaft position sensor, distributor, ignition coil, plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor or fuel filter as I replaced all of that due to general maintenance (except the distributor which was bad). Also my catalytic converter is new.

If it's not the MAP Sensor, my only remaining options are the crankshaft position sensor (not likely), the PCM itself (possible), battery voltage (tests fine so doubtful), or the fuel pump (not likely as it is giving good pressure).

Hopefully this helps.
