In the discussion about shimmy are you considering this to be same as what I call high speed wobble? I experienced what I call high speed wobble on a long fast downhill In Colorado when a strong gust of wind hit me from the side causing me to tense up and grab the bars hard. I was out of control at 40mph and thought sure I was going crash and be severely injured. After  almost 15 seconds of this for some reason I brought both my knees tight to th top tube and the bike IMMEDIATELY righted itself. I have never been so scared in my life and learned a valuable lesson.I have had this same experience many times in Florida when car or truck comes to close and I tense up. Same result..high speed wobble or maybe shimmy. Bring your knees in to the top tube.
