I have a eight month old miniature male dachshund who I am still struggling to potty train.  He is crated when we are not at home and was neutered about a month ago.  We are still having trouble with "accidents" in the house and now he has started eating his stool immediately after he has an accident.  I am open to any suggestions.  We take him out very regularly, but when we are outside with him for 15 or so minutes he won't go the bathroom until we come back inside.  HELP!

I am having a similar problem with my soon to be 5 month old female. When I take her outside, it seems I am out there for an eternity before she will actually go to the bathroom, and I always take her around the same spot, but I think they are so interested in everything else going on around them that they lose focus as to why they are suppose to be out there in the first place. And while my female does not eat her feces, I have caught her licking up her pee when she has an accident in the house, which completely grosses me out. Good Luck with the problem! I hope mine pans out well too!

My eight month old miniature female dachshund had the same problem. She learned a month ago.  How I did it? When someone she knows visited us at our home she pee. so I realize that if I took her outside to receive the visit, she would pee. soon she learned by herself that outside was the right place.
