Very hard to bread in captivity, must be mature, this means 6+ inches in size! They lay eggs and if you are serious about breeding them hope you have a couple of 10,000 gallon tanks/ponds handy!

Bala sharks are egg scatterers, they lay single eggs all over the place. You have next to no chance of breeding them at home unless you happen to have a spare 50,000 gallon pond handy becuase they dont even mature untill at least 6 inchs and need a lot of room! They are bred in HUGE ponds in captivity somewhere in Asia but only do so with the help of a hormone extracted from carp.

Bala sharks are egg scatters.  From what I have heard they have NEVER been bred successfully in captivity.  They also tend to have certain spawning habits that include time of year and location which also make it nearly impossible to breed these fish in captivity.

balas are egg layers.  rarely, you might see a female dropping eggs on the bottom of your aquarium.
