My Husky is the same way. Some dogs won't breed with males they are uncomfortable with. I don't know if there is anything you can do about it though. stanishas@aol.com

There's a product called a breeding board. Basically it makes your female stand still and she is strapped in and can't move and has no choice in the matter.

Though you may not think of it this way, animals are like people. If the female doesnt like the male, then she wont feel attatched enough to him to mate. Dont try to forrce it
Let her be happy with the other one.

basically they are just like us of course they wont. if she is pregnant by that male she will have formed a bond with him and they may well stay mates for life. you cant decide who your dog likes just like no one can decide for you who you like.

stop trying to make a profit off your dogs. watch out for their health and the puppies health instead of mating with any dog.

Easiest way to fix it is to neuter and spay those dogs.

The world doesn't need any more puppies until the ones that are being euthanized because there's no homes for them find happiness.

If you would like to breed the two odd couple, you could take a look at AI. It's expensive and I'm sure only show breeders use it on their studs, but that's an alternative to your picky dog problems.

why do you want to breed these dogs? Are they OFA & CERF cleared? Are they shown in dog shows/conformation? Are they champions? Do they have stable temperment?

Just bcuz a dog is AKC it doesn't mean it's breeding quaility.

Are you prepared to have the female die while giving birth? Are you prepared to pay $2000 for a C-section?

To answer your question,it can NOT be fixed- it's a health problem. Take her to the vet. While your there have her spayed.

Yah maybe she does not like the other dog and she is very uncomfortable. This happened to my i think u should work on the other dogs relationship by taking the other dog out of the area in which the two dogs u want to breed sleep and when going on trips think of bring only those two dogs and bring the other one later try things like that and u will be surprised.

You have to separate the dogs you want to breed from all other dogs. It is best to start at least a week before she comes into heat and a week after ( and I do mean after, not a trace of color). Do it at least once a months for a couple of days all year round, they need to start bonding. It sounds silly but it's true!

Your female has mated for life, its a possibility that she will never mate with another male dog. Same goes with fish and birds.
