That depends. If you treat it well, it will live longer. Try looking on www.akc.com

An Akita will live for roughly ten to twelve years. Some of the diseases it is susceptible to are hyperthyroidism, pemphigus foliaceous (a skin disease), hip and elbow dysplasia, and sebaceous adenitis (another skin disease). An Akita can also be a very protective and dominant dog, and is not recommended for inexperienced dog owners.

Average life span of the Akita is about 10 years. Depending upon the type of care throughout the Akita's life it may live up to 12 years.

I had three akitas, two of which I've had since birth.  My eldest just died in July, at the age of 13.  He was in great shape up until the age of about 11, thats when I could really notice the aging process.  I think on average they live anywhere from 11 to 13.

They say anywere from 9 to 15 years. So basically the average lifespan of any other dog. If you get one from a good line and dont feed it commercial pet food (feed it real food, eg. raw carrots and meat, cooked brown rice etc. or get a wholistic food such as Burns) It should live to about 15.
An Akita cross is more likely to live longer too because all purebreds are inbred.

I don't know for certain, but I would guess it to be about 10-12 years. I would check with a breeder to make sure.
