IF I PLAY A WRATH OF GOD AND SOMEONE HAS A LIFELINE OUT, DO ALL THE CREATURES STAY DEAD OR DO THEY RETURN TO PLAY

They would stay dead because Lifeline says that if there is still a creature in play than they come back at end of turn. Since Wrath of God kills every creature than none would come back.

Actually all creatures come back. Lifeline triggers for each individual creature, but wrath sends all creatures to the grave at the same time. When something like this happens, the game looks back in time and checks the gamestate just before a creature went to the grave. The game sees another creature in play, and so will bring that creature back. The game looks back like this for each creature that goes to the grave, so all creatures will be returned, because the game sees another creature in play when it went to grave.

I don't see how this would work.  The lifeline effect would check for surviving creatures when a creature hits the graveyard, not before it does.  Seeing as all creatures would be leaving play at the same time, there would be no survivors left to trip lifeline's ability for any of them, as they're all in the graveyard.

I know they've officially ruled that it works, but that ruling really makes no sense.  I'd understand if the rules on creatures dying had them dying one at a time...
