I have nice older wooden cabinets for my rear/back speakers that I would like to keep.  My daughter turned the volume way up and blew the larger mid range speakers.  The cabinets also have a small (2.5 inch) tweeter.  I went out and bought a pair of similar 5" mid range speakers (one for each cabinet) to replace the blown ones.  Unfortunately, I did not notice that they were 6 ohms instead of the original 8 ohms.  The tweeters are also 8 ohms.  This is for a home system (stereo, TV and movies) that has 2 main/front larger speakers as well as these smaller rear speakers.  Will I damage the amplifier by using the 6 ohm speakers without modification? If so is there any techniques for wiring a 6 ohm speaker to an amp that I believe is rated for an 8 ohm speaker?

TIA
Bob
