I have just married an american citizen and applied for adjustment of status from international exchange student to permanent resident. I am waiting for my work authorization (EAD) which should come in about four months. If I start working now and use my social security number how will it affect my application for a greencard? Will I be deported or just fined? What will happen? Will the INS even find out that I have worked before receiving my EAD. By he way, my wife is pregnant. Does this influence my case?
