World War II really had nothing to do with the US for a long time.  I mean, the war was in Europe.  Not in the US.  The US joined the Allies when the Germans started to sink cargo ships. The cargo ships happened to be US cargo ships.  The US got enraged and then the rest is history.

At first, the United States didn't want to get involved with World War II. But then Japanese air forces bombed Pearl Harbor, and this really made the U.S government angry, so American leaders had to go to war with Germany and Japan.

The sinking of the ships was a small portion as to why the united states join the war. Thinking out of the box, was America'sentry into ww1 a decisive factor towards defeating Germany. It was. Many European countries will disagree with this, but it is true. The USA was the financer for the allies. Can you imagine how much money the financers would have lost if the US would have not entered the war and the axis would have won. It was the first war fought on credit. Economically speaking, even women were working. True, American troops only fought for like 4 months before the war was over, but it is because of the troops that it somewhat made a difference.

the U.S. joined the war so late because they were in isolation after WWI. however, they were brought out of isolation when Pearl Harbor was attacked, this is because they enforced the Monroe Doctrine, which stated if the U.S. was attacked, then they would attack back.

It was more due to Japan bombing us at Pearl harbor that we got involved, and it snowballed from there because there was already some pressure on us to get involved, especially from our own president.

Actually, the United States joined WWII later on because they were in a period of isolation after the first world war. They no longer wanted to be involved in European affairs. The problems in Europe had nothing to do with them and because the U.S was so far away the war really did not effect them. When Japan joined the axis with Germany and Italy they had planned on expanding just like Germany had. Most of the land surrounding Japan was already colonized by others such as Britain, France, the Dutch and the United States of America. Japan's invasion and attacks on these areas angered these other countries. Especially the U.S. This is when the U.S decided to get involved. They set out oil embargos on Japan. This feuled Japan to attack Pearl Harbor(December 7,1941) After the attack on Pearl Harbor, the United States was determined to end the war and end the power held by Japan. There for, The United States joined the war on the 8th of December, 1941.

The United States joined the war after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. They did not join WWII before this time because the U.S. was a neutral country.
