never dried food alone. oats should be included in his diet.I make my own  food for him and he thrives on it. it is a lot of bother but he is a very healthy dog and can run for miles his coat is gleaming if you want the recipe just ask.

If your Bassets are anything like mine you have to watch them carefully because they will eat anything that doesn't eat them first.

I WANNA KNOW WHAT KIND OF FOOD DOES BASSET HOUND DOGS EAT.

well, i have 2 basset hounds and both mine are eating prescription diet i/d.  this is only sold in the vets office and can be very expensive.  but, i have found that it is well worth it.  from what i have heard basset hound can be very sensitive or allergic to certain foods (i.e. ckn. & beef) so i try to avoid those foods.

Recommend reading "Barker's Grub" by Rudy Edalati, that is if you the time to prep your own dog food.   If not your vet is your best source of information
