I am a 41 year old mother of 1 (4 year old)and I have had a miscarriage two years ago and a genetic
disorder pregnancy last year which ended the baby's life when I was 5 months pregnant. The baby had Down syndrome and other problems.  My Doctor said for this to happen to me again would be like winning the lottery twice in a year.  I'm very nervous and concern regarding trying to
become pregnant again.  What are your thoughts?
I know the chances for a down syndrome baby are greater now that I'm another year older, but I don't know what chances of this nightmare reoccurring again.  All I want is a baby to Love.  Thanks for your help

I too am 41. I have a beautiful 10-year-old daughter. I lost a baby at 5 months pregnancy to Down Syndrome when I was 33 and another at 4 months pregnant to Triploidy when I was 35 and miscarried at 4 weeks when I was 37. I just finished all of my testing at 41 and I am expecting a baby boy with perfect chromosomes in March. Don't let the odds spook you. They are just odds. Healthy babies happen to older moms all of the time. It is worth waiting for. THIS is the baby God meant me to have.
