I have a 95 Grand Caravan.  Bought it used.  Now have over 175,000 miles on it and have put a lot of money into it (one year just about every part that could crack, did).  Despite everything, I love the car!  I feel more secure in it than in any car I've ever owned, and I'm almost 70 now, so that's quite a few.  If I could afford to upgrade, I'd probably stick with this van.  But you should get into Yahoo, write out "Problems with 2002-03 Dodge Caravans" and then read everything and decide for yourself if you can afford to keep it in shape.  Good luck!

i bought a 1990 caravan brand new.  when i decided it was time to down grade, i gave it to my sister-in-law.  it had 450,000 kms on it at the time and was one of the best vehicles i ever owned. other than the normal repairs the only thing i had to replace was the fuel pump.  it was eleven years old when i gave it away and it still had the original exhaust system on it!!!

I have a 96 Grand Caravan ES, now with 140,000 miles on it.  Very functional, but not a reliable vehicle.  The A/C unit had gone out nearly every year to the tune of $700 per pop.  The fan just went and that's 'only available' as a $750 replacement unit. Forget the rear door locks! It has lasted many miles, but at a very high cost in repairs.  Other than oil, the repairs on these things rival a Mercedes.
