I have used india ink for a prvious homemade tat and i did not get poisoned. I dont have money to buy ink and i am wondering what I can use that will stay in me permanently. Ballpoint pen ink did not stay or work. Help me please....20 with a problem. Thank you. Please email me at candicejean84@hotmail.com if you have the answer.

i dont know why the india ink diddent stay in your skin any knid of pen ink will definatly not stay in your skin and can give you ink posining i have about seven homemade tattoos done myself with  the second smallest gituar string tied to a pen or pencil useing india ink and i have had them for 3 years and they havent faded

hey buddy it seems to me that your just not going deep enough, i've had tatts done in india ink and it work well if you go deep enough so that the ink is in your skin not just on it....

I have 2 with pen ink that faded in a couple months and ive had one done with shoe polish that has been there for a few months and dosent seem to be fading MUCH

um, i would like 2 ask a question. i've heard frum a lot of people that u can get ink poisoning frum regular pen ink. well my friend's cousin scratched out "sk8 4 lyfe" on my right hip and put black pen ink in it. he did it a week ago, and its still there. will i get ink poisoning? i haven't let my parents know about it. a ton of people have been doing it, and nothing has happened 2 any1 that i know of. every1 is using regular pen ink. some fade away. is there anything that i should worry about? i don't wunt my parents 2 know about this at all...

Okay,Probably No One Will Follow Up To This But I HAve A couple Questions

Ink Poisioning Is Suposedly A Myth Right?

I Made A Homemade Tattoo...Well School.
During Readin In school i did one its a heart (small)..first i took a safty pin (about the size of hte second guitar string) And Carved Out The Heart Until The Shape I wanted On My Left Hand Near My Thumb
Then I Took An Ordinary Ballpoint Pen (Red Ink) And Took The Cartrigde Out ..Then The Open End Of The Cartrigde I Put The Safty Pin In And Then Went Back Over The Heart And Scraped It A Lil bit More.Its The Second Day I Have It .Its Still Red...
Whats The Odds IT Will Stay  Or at Least Leave A Mark
And Will I Get Ink Poison


And ..What Is India Ink

I used india ink for my tattoos, and they're still there.. no fading actually.  I hear india ink is poisonous, but at a couple of science sites I looked at it said that jailhouse tattoos have no adverse effects at all, and india ink is really only poisonous if you drink like a gallon. (I'm exaggerating, but you should be okay.)

don't use a bic pen though, the ink will be gone in like a month.  I've heard the ashes mixed with vodka thing before, but i've never tried it..

if you can get ahold of sterile dry pigment, mixing it with vodka and a little medical glycerine and prop glycol if you want makes the best homemade ink I've heard.. though I have no idea where to get propylene glycol.

i have about 50% of my body done with india ink and have not had the slightest bit of trouble healing,they look good,unfaded,and some of it is better than the local shop does,keep on scratching.

i'vedone three with india ink and they all stayed and never faded!! i don't know why they wouldn't stay but mine all stayed.. and u can try liquid eye liner.. my friend did that and it work.. (to touch up her tattoo)

To make some homemade ink you get a piece of touthbruch and then get a cup on top of the touthbruth. Get someone to burn the touthbruch and that all the smoke goes up and enter the cup. You the drop all tha smoke that the cup has into a cap then pour a drop of alcohol in you mix it then you check if the ashes becomed ink. If not you put in another drop of alcohol, until it becomes liquid.

i just gave myself a tat with pen ink and it worked you might have to go over it a couple times. it works good if you graze the skin with a needle had enough with ink on it.

Can indian ink give you ink poisening? Alot of friends have given themselves indian ink tattoos and theres are fine but i have horrible luck so i just wanted to make sure theres no chance of getting ink poisening!

India ink is the good ink to use 4 tats i dont know about homemade ink that will give you ink poison.

I did my first home made tats today, 2 of them... i used blue and black.. pen ink.. i have friends who have used pen ink, and they were fine.. however i dont plan on continuously using it. i got india ink on my way home tonight... but which would be better to use.. water proof, or fade proof?.. i mean, i dont want my tat to fade, but i also want to be able to take a shower within a week of doing it! lol email me with the answer plz! kgb_dude_1@yahoo.com

Yes. I've wanted to give myself a homemade tattoo, the thing im afraid of is ink posioning. But of course I get other diseases and stuff doing the things i do but thats not the point....
Will the ashes thing hurt you in anyway? Like posioning and what not?

hey i do tattoos just not professional and i use india ink and to stay in the skin the ink only has to go in the thickness of 3 human hairs (aprox 7 microns) if you go deep it just looks faded... what im looking for is a recipie for home made pigments of every color if you know of any email me mbigfish1304@aol.com

defianately no ashes .take styrofoam anything burn it in a cardboredbox let the smoke stick 2 the box then take a razor or card and scrape the soot up in a container then mix one drop or two of any clear shampoo 2 it it will be pastey thats good mix it up take a needle and stick make the skin pop if the skin swells immediately it will stay in ur skin thats prison tattoo ink...e-mail me at rain3490@yahoo.com jan 4 2006

What i seen tattoo artist in the the bars is burn styrofoam and hold a chess board over it to collect the ashes and then scrape the ash of the board and then add single drops of water at a time to delute it

Burn some tpye of plastic[any color] and mix it with about a dime size about of shampoo and water untill its thick. Hah my boyfriend showed me that and it actaully works nicely. But idia ink is better just go alittle deeper.

if you dont go far enough into the skin it will not stay ..you have to go like at least 3 layers down ..or it will fade out over time...so if you are gonna do it with india ink just make sure the artist is good every thing is clean and that you go far enough into the skin to make it permanit..

Mix ashes together will work but don't mix with water, mix with 70% isp. alcohol or whiskey, It makes it sterile to use and minimizes infections (professional ink is mixed with alcohol, and glycerine or flavorless listerine is used sometimes too!

I have used india ink for a tattoo with a home made gun and it didn't stay in my skin. When it healed i did it again but deeper (about 4-5mm) it stayed more but not alot. maybe its the ink, is it supose to be tick like pin ink, because the ink i'm using isn't.Is the kind of india ink i'm using waterdown or something. and if so should i use pin ink. or where do i get good india ink. (I got ink at Wal-Mart) PLEASE HELP!!!

I do Tattoos professionally and I use india ink all the time ... always works great. it's the cheaper alternative to buying "tattoo" ink with the same results.

Is all brands of India Ink non-toxic.  My husband got a tatoo from somebody and I bought some India Ink from Wal-Mart.  It said that it was waterproof but is it non-toxic.  I was wondering because he has a really bad skin infection and I am wondering if the ink was toxic?

It works allot better if you burn on a polystyrene cup, creates more soot hense better class and more of it.  And mixing it with shampoo works a whole lot better, just be careful about the contents, certain shampoo's have too much chemicals.
Also just a staple melted into a pen and sharpened will suffice as a needle.
Small problem with it all is that you can't do colouring, which isn't any good, ha-ha.

I just got myself a homemade tattoo done. My roommate here at UNCC did it for me. I put the latin phrase "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum" It means " If you wish for peace, prepare for war." I'm going into the Army thought it was appropriate. Anyway, we used a sewing needle, ducktape and black india ink. We wraped the ducktape around the sewing needle so that the needle would not go to deep and give me poisoning, but we went deep enough to draw blood. I love the tattoo, and so far it looks great no fading or infection.

We are going to use Indian ink for the first time, and we need a definite answer that Indian ink does not poison you. I have seen them and people have complaints about this ink.

i agree. Take a needle. and tie it down with thread to a pencil. YOU NEED THREAD. to hold the ink in. otherwise u wont get a good tattoo. you can buy indian ink at walmart..but just go over it a good 16 to 20 times.

First of all you need to use, super black India ink. and second you need to use an, "E" string. Also keeping in mind that shading  is much harder then letter's or lines. Also "touch up's" Will be Necessary !
