Your cover letter is the first thing the employer will look at, so make it strong.  Don't use a form-looking letter.  Seem enthusiastic about the particular job in question.  Use the opportunity to really sell yourself.  Highlight some of the strongest reasons why they should hire you, even if they are already on your resume.  Also, mention something important that might not be on your resume. It is extremely important not to have any grammtical errors or mispelled words on your letter or resume.  It will go in the trash immediately if you do.  There has been a growing trend for cover letters and resumes to be longer and longer, so do not feel you have to cram everything into a short space.  Imagine yourself as the employer, look at the letter, and ask, would i hire me?
