Hi Russell!  If you work on the Mac platform, you are lucky, because there is a very cheap (15 dollars) shareware software (for Mac OS X) designed for converting the Hitachi .vro files into any Quicktime codec. Here is the link for the donwload:

I hope this helps you!

David

My daughter also has a hitachi 780 DVD disk
camera. and I used a ram disk. I was able to download the scenes onto my hard drive which is not Mac but IBM  format running XP PRO. I can play the video on the hard drive but I can't transfer all of the movie to a DVD disk. The video portion is there but there is no Audio. I am using a Basic form of NERO 6 to try and burn the video. I have tried everything but cannot get the audio on the disk with the video.Hope you have a answer.  Yours Respectfully:  Jim
