how do i register a store bough chi? how do i get genetic testing?

In order to register a chi with the AKC or CKC, etc., both parents must be registered and the breeder must have registered the litter.  You send in the registration form from the breeder, include on it the registration numbers of the stud, dam and litter.  Since you bought the dog in a store, I doubt all that information is available.  It doesn't mean the dog isn't purebred.

Genetic testing can be done by vets specially trained for that, but most genetic defects can be found by observation.  The only real issue for testing is to see if a dog carries a problem that could be passed on to pups.  Again, since you bought the dog at a store, you shouldn't be using it as breeding stock.
