I am installing a 30KW three-phase MG set 50 feet from my 23.5 KVA load. What size wire should I use to minimize any voltage drop? Will size 4 be adequate for this distance?

well,if the voltage was known,it would make it a lot easier to figure.so,let's assume you're at 240 volts. the formula goes like this for three phase power.
watts divided by volts divided by 1.73
  so  23500 divided by 240 divided by 1.73 equals 56.6 amps.this means about a #4 wire.
  however,play it safe,figure for voltage drop,distance,etc., use a #2.
