Hi - I apologize if this is not the correct forum for this question but I'm am not familiar with navigating your site.  I have a behavioral question regarding my oldest and former alpha dog.  Blackie was a rescue dog and was the first in the household as well as being the oldest.  For five years she held onto the alpha position but last year it was taken over by the next eldest (6 yrs old) and largest dog in our pack.   Blackie is, we think, around 14 yrs old now.  She still functions well, her sight and hearing seem to be fine, she does suffer from some arthritis but she has recently started eating the feces of the other dogs and I don't know if this is result of senility, a diet problem, a behavioral issue from losing the alpha position or ????  Since I have never experienced this behavior in any of my dogs before I do not know what to do about it - I asked a veterinarian and they just told me it sometimes happens but didn't give me any additional information...Any suggestions?

Thank you and again, my apologies if this is being sent to the wrong person.

Grace

It is most likely because she isn't absorbing the nutrients from her food. I would recommend seeing your vet, and trying an enzymatic supplement such as Prozyme.
