A small amount of chocolate isnt going to do much damage. I know it's a no-no but i often feed my dog small pieces of chocolate. She's about 16 pounds and might gets two squares of a hershey bar once a month. I am NOT, however saying that it's a safe choice for anyone but she seems to have no problems connected to it.She even once got hold of a whole candy bar and there were no bad effects.I dont think a small quantity will do any harm.Just treat her like a dieter and hide it all !! lol

My friends decided to leave a big chocolate brownie at my doorstep and forgot that i have 3 dogs. Luckily my german Shepherd puppy was inside but my 80 lb mutt and 120 lb King Shepherd could get to it and one of them ate it. Im pretty sure my German Shepard ate it because shes acting a little lethargic but i dont no what to do to help her feel better and not die? What do i do?

Our small dog (Maltese, 6lbs) ate two double-chocolate chip cookies, so we called the vet, and the vet said to give the pup a teaspoon of salt to make him vomit, which promptly worked.

My parents' dog (a medium sized mixed breed) once ate an entire 2 lb box of chocolates & all she had to show for it, aside from the weight gain ;o), was a slight case of the "runs".  She loves chocolate & will do some amazing things to get it sometimes.  Once, she got into my Mum's zipped shopping bag to steal a box of hand-made chocolates that my Mum had been given as a gift.  Now they just put anything chocolatey up out of her reach!

My dog has eaten lots of chocolate and is quite ill he is consuming lots of water and his mouth is wet, if your dog has eaten lots of chocolate and has side affects like these dont worry to much if it gets worse then 'yes' take him/her to the vets. Don't worry if your dog has had a bit chocolate but try not to let them have it.  It is not recomended to feed it to them, and anyway why give to your dog when you can have to your-self.
