yes you can just change the head. but if it is from a v-6 or 8 cylinder you may as well do both at the same time. if you end up getting a used one at a junkyard take it to an engine shop and get it pressure tested,get the valves refaced and get them to plane the head just in case it is warped.

Yes,Depending on car best bet is a pick a part,and assuming your question,you would probably rather pay $30-40 for one than taking it to a shop and getting bent over for $600-$700 or more for a new one. If you do it yourself before you put it on take it to a shop and have it checked and resurfaced this usually costs $20-30 good luck.

Yes you can replace just the heads but you still have to replace the head gasket and maybe the valve gasket if valve cover has to be removed

yes but it will be expensive maybe around 600 dollers you maybe better off getting a used engine
